UK Minister for Culture to Convene Meeting on Israeli Football Club Fan Ban
The police and crime commissioner from the central England region has called for an urgent reexamination of the decision to ban the Israeli team's fans from attending the upcoming match.
Simon Foster, who oversees the police department, states that this appeal aims to verify whether the ban is suitable, necessary, justified, sensible, and a proportionate step to achieve a lawful objective.
"That should involve consideration of all and any appropriate, other choices," Foster adds.
The commissioner has also asked to review the official ruling and recommendation from the advisory group, along with the police assessment.
The commissioner underscores, however, that the final decision rests with the advisory group and the authorities.
