The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Get Together for Palestine Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to send support to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded following a major charity concert held in late summer. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of talented individuals. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the project have stated that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing that another narrative exists.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
