The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Track
This latest animated series, the newest animated series by the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and making their mark, while also hinting at several agonizing personal histories for key figures such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.
All in all, the intro appears stunning. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.
The intro employs "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar composition created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second one released by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental choice, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will appreciate its presence.
Personally, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when co-founder the performer wrote words to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.
Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as the writer, the track was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.
The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.
Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have some surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.
The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to get to know the characters of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are accessible on Spotify and the video site.
