That will not be happening this time, though, after a comprehensive triumph in Adelaide gave Australia with a 3-0 lead for the fourth consecutive series on their own soil.

The loyal traveling fans, England's supporters' group, have 3,000 fans making the journey for the final two Tests in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Ryding siblings are among those affected.

Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie had their itineraries and entry credentials secured for the Boxing Day and New Year Tests "a full year in advance", anticipating a long-awaited triumph.

Sadly, they've observed Australia defeat England convincingly in just 11 days from their residence in their hometown.

"All my colleagues has been giving me grief regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"The hope was that we would have the series on the line still when we got there."

Lowered Expectations

However, the situation is now looking at the possibility of prolonging a streak without victory in the country to 19 games when the Boxing Day Test begins in Melbourne this week.

The England team - and their supporters - will be keen to prevent a dreaded 5-0 scoreline.

It was mentioned that the "thrill and enjoyment" of head coach the positive style of play in the past couple of seasons had "renewed interest in" the longest format for followers of the team.

But the Ryding siblings said they had low expectations for the remaining matches - and all they are asking for from the players is "some resilience".

A teacher, Katie is focused on enjoying the lengthy journey as part of her seasonal break.
