Head Reached Out to Duckett Following Social Media Clip Backlash
The two batters were on opposing sides in the past two Ashes contests.
Aussie batter Travis Head stated that he made contact to England counterpart Ben Duckett after a video emerged appearing to show the batter in a drunken state before the MCG Test.
Accounts suggested that players were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a time off in the coastal resort of Noosa between the second and third Tests.
One unconfirmed video led to greater scrutiny on the squad and on Duckett personally.
"I get on with Ducky well contacted him to see if he was alright," said Head.
"Everyone is still people. Your actions in your own time is up to you.
"I know we live a high profile life and some people are more visible than others.
"Ultimately, it is a rather harsh but I don't think there is any genuine problem."
Context of the Event
The team's time in Noosa came after they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series following defeats in Perth and Brisbane.
Several news organizations stated that some players were drinking for a large part of their time on the coastal break, in addition to on two previous days in Brisbane.
Although they gave an better showing in the following Test, they were defeated in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.
Head's Viewpoint
Commenting after the visiting team's win in the Melbourne Test, Head said: "I felt envious.
"Everyone has blown it out of proportion than what it should have been.
"Our teams have done the same thing on past tours. I don't see an issue with it."
