According to new allegations from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her associates to call and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, the congressman also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the president to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any promises to the President or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
